The school holidays are just around the corner and your thoughts are probably turning to what you can plan over the summer to keep the whole family amused. If you are located in Nottinghamshire, you couldn’t be in a better place for the best seasonal events. Looking for things to do? We have you covered, let’s dive into summer!

Nottingham Beach – 25 July – 3 September
Old Market Square

Stripy deckchairs, hook a duck, penny pusher machines, if you love a traditional day out at the beach but want to stay right in the heart of the city, dig out your flip flops and don’t miss this popular event. Stalls, food and waterslides, what more could you need to cool off with the little ones this summer? It’s advised to book entry to the Giant Slip ‘n’ Slide in advance to avoid disappointment on the day.

Mini Land Rovers – Holme Pierrepont Country Park

Got a mini vehicle enthusiast? They will love this pint sized track designed just for kids. Each session lasts 30 minutes and each child will do two laps of the specially designed dirt track with an added 10 minute safety briefing before they take to the wheel! This activity is suitable for children between 3- 8 years old.

Nottingham Castle – Open from Monday 26th June

This place is perfect for adults and children alike and if you are on a budget, it gets even better as adults pay £15 which gives them access for the whole season and kids under 15 go free with each paying adult, which makes days out here family friendly and affordable. Visit the medieval adventure playground, drop in to the café for afternoon tea and snacks and hop on the underground adventure tour to explore the dungeons and wine cellars.

Clip ‘n Climb – Phoenix Business Park

Fancy a climbing adventure for all the family? Clip ‘n Climb is the perfect place where climbing combines theme park and is family friendly from age 4 to 94! Have loads of fun climbing in a fun and safe environment, visit the café for refreshments and take advantage of the free soft play for under 5’s whilst you take a well-earned break and sip a coffee.
